Two demolition excavators working overnight

Overnight Demolition in a City Centre Location

Hunter Demolition worked against the clock overnight to ensure that there was no disruption to rush hour traffic when they demolished a warehouse in Glasgow’s city centre.

Our client, Ogilvie Construction, commissioned us to demolish the four storey 200 year old warehouse prior to their re-development of the site as apartments.

We began by carrying out a soft strip and our Asbestos Removal Division dealt with the asbestos which was present in internal cladding materials and pipework.

We then demolished the structure whilst leaving the frontage intact and with just part of the return walls in place to provide temporary stability.

Then, one spring evening, the streets surrounding the building were closed to traffic and our excavators rose to the challenge of demolishing the rest of the structure safely during the night.

By 5.30am the following day, the job was done. And by the time the streets were swept and re-opened, no-one in the morning rush hour had any idea of the feat that had just been accomplished overnight.
